10/14
Today is exactly 5 weeks since my transplant! I had my weekly follow up appointment, and everything went well. My doctor is pleased with my progress and I "graduated" from weekly appointments to bi-weekly appointments with my liver coordinator! So that's exciting! Of course there are other doctors I will still need to meet with, however, taking that appointment out of the weekly range is a big step.
My wound is healing well from where it split open also. That's some awesome news right there. I do still have to pack it daily and put a dressing on it, but it is healing :)
I finally got Kim a closer appointment. February was just not soon enough, especially with all she has going on in that body of hers. So we go to the endocrinologist in 2 weeks. We have so many questions to ask at that appointment Hopefully we can get her taken care of and feeling better so she can return to college for the 2nd semester. She will feel so much better after getting seen by them.
I keep trying to keep myself busy because for the first time in my life... I am bored. I guess it was easier when I was sleeping 18 hours a day and could barely manage to get up to 900 calories... on my "good days"...most days I ate nothing at all. So now I'm eating because I'm able and I'm awake... and I FEEL BETTER... so I keep having to remind myself that I need to rest and I need to be still so I can heal. It's kind of like baptizing a cat.
I am amazed at how my journey as well as our families previous trials and struggles has brought the community together in prayer and kindness. Keep that up! That's what God wants. He wants us to stick together and keep the faith. Let's keep it going!
Thank you all for the gifts, monetary gifts and your true physical support of assisting me with daily tasks, writing me, texting me and calling me. It keeps my spirits lifted!
